Cute recent toddler-isms

The entire ride home and much of the rest of the day, he kept repeating, "Scared! Wolf!"

This cracks me up! Insisting on going back to see something that scares her then cowering behind me in fear when we do is totally something my toddler DC would do, as is repeatedly voicing her reaction to said scary thing for the rest of the day (or week...or month...).

This is also something my toddler (well, I guess technically preschooler) does. She's 3.5 and LOVES The Wizard of Oz. Except when the wicked witch comes on screen. She stands up as soon as her face appears on screen "So I can run if she tries to get me."

when we play the car music a tad too loud, my little one would say 'shh...quiet down, don't be so loud'....yes, it is totally from me!

Ha! After my DH weighed him on our (rarely used until then) scale to find out what dose of children's advil to give him for a fever, my 2.5-year-old DC wanted to weigh himself multiple times a day for the next several months. He would say " I need to do my pounds" & then walk to the scale muttering "32.5 lbs, 32 lbs, maybe 33 lbs..." (depending on the time of day, his weight at the time fluctuated between 32-33 lbs).

These are all absolutely adorable; please keep them coming!

I miss those precious toddler years so treasure them.

My three year old has recently started describing things as "lovely." Melts my heart!

Yes, great thread! The "Oh my god" with the scale and "broken pyjamas" are really cute.

My toddler has been doing a lot of loud singing with strong emphasis on key parts, complete with exaggerated facial expressions, and it's hilarious, but hard to translate into words.

I used to be a preschool teacher, so I have a TON of these. Along the lines of, "little pitchers have big ears," we had a set of twins one year. They were playing together in the dramatic play area, making breakfast. One of them loudly said to the other, "WHY DO YOU NEED TO BUY EXPENSIVE COFFEE WHEN WE HAVE COFFEE AT HOME?!"

I think you win the internet. This is the sweetest thing!

Ha! Yes, parents should be forewarned that by the end of the school year, their kids' preschool (& early elementary) teachers are very likely to know much more about them & what goes on in their households than they are probably comfortable with!

My 21 month old dd is obsessed with pajama pants. She figured out she can sit and put them on herself and then stand and pull up. So in the morning after her milk it’s pants on and off time.
She also loves pointing out the cobwebs in our house and elsewhere and says “buzz” for bug and spider.

My 17 month old can say about 20 things but one of them is "get down!" (or "geh DOW!"), which he has heard me say approximately 5,000 times to our cats when they jump on the counter. He keeps an eye on them for me.

My 3 yo: “Mommy, can you sing that song about this part of the land belongs to you, and this part of the land belongs to me?”

I finally realized she meant, “This land is your land, this land is my land....”
