OP I get you. My neighbor’s baby sitter parks directly in front of our house every day. The neighbors do not use the spots in front of their house so they are always open. No idea why she does this because it means my husband has to park several spots away and lug the baby in his car seat.
Once I had a large item trash pick up scheduled and I had to put a note on her car not to block my treelawn that day. |
Have you tried talking to your neighbor about this? |
This vehicle would not meet the Abandoned Vehicle standard as it does not meet 2 of the requirements. The city is actually very lax about vehicles that never move, so long as you keep its registration current and the vehicle can still operate. There's posts on Popville about neighbors who keep a junker car in the same spot all year but the city won't do anything if there's no street sweeping. I simply don't understand why these people keep the cars. They never use them. |
But it could still be violating ROSA rules. |
Very true. This is the best avenue for the OP to pursue. Use the 311DC app and report it everyday as a ROSA violation, attaching photos. It will take a few days for someone from DDOT to come out and deal with it. I've done it many times before for illegally parked cars in Adams Morgan. |
... what? Can you try this again in English? I live in and park in DC every day and no one has ever approached me. Of course, I'm not driving some giant monstrosity with out of state plates and an inability to parallel park. |
What has giant monstrosity has to do with It? I drive what I want to drive. Yes, it's not easy to park my RV. |
plenty of servicemen/women legally maintain their out of state tags while living in DC and can "Loiter" in DC |
It's not loitering if it's their residence. DC extends reciprocity for temporary residents. |
Leave a note on the car asking nicely for them to move to another place. Maybe they will. |
I thought out of state plates couldn't park overnight in DC? Did this change? I got ticketed visiting a boyfriend in DC overnight 7 years ago or so. |
If a vehicle has out of state tag (VA and MD included) on DC streets. they will/can get ticket under the ROSA law.
Call 311 give them your address and the tag number; done deal. |
Which is such bullshit, someone living in Bethesda shouldnt have to worry about staying at a friends or SO house in DC.
VA MD and DC need to just accept eachothers vehicles |
If you are the visitor of a dc resident, then your host should have a guest pass for you. |
That is absurd. DC is not a gated community. |
