[APS] Any predictions on the new Stratford school?

How much are they renovating the Stratford building? I know there will be addition but curious about existing structures.

My kids will be walking - live 5 blocks away across Lee Highway. There actually is an old tunnel under Lee Highway that was used when it was Stratford before. Perhaps it will be reopened.

Do you really think that's safe? Did people actually let their kids walk through a tunnel under Lee Hwy?

During Stratford design they demonstrated the HAWK crosswalk which be placed across from fire station.

Lee Highway should have a pedestrian bridge like TJ has over Rte 50.

We are 2 blocks away. My kids already walk there to go sledding in the winter and they are 3 and 5. By the time older one hits ms she can easily walk there by herself. It will be great because she will be able to sleep in given the ridiculous start times for ms.

Unless you are asking people to spit out their predjudices about the children who attend different schools you just won’t get a satisfying, honest answer to this question. Personally, I know lots of awesome, friendly kids at both Williamsburg and Swanson; I have had kids at both. And there are a few who aren’t so awesome, just like at any middle school.

I guess the stereotypes would be helpful - I've heard that there's a lot of wealthy families at Wmsbrg, but that doesn't seem like an inherently bad thing.
