Will Costco take back my dead mums?

No, you psycho freak. You're the reason that companies keep making their return policies worse and worse.

Go ahead and return OP. I love their return policy - you can return at any time. I’ve returned my electric toothbrushes when they stop working and my sons twin mattress when it got messed up. No one cares.

Yay you. Family members return things after single use, when no longer needed. Tent for party, rec items, food etc... Greedy & gross and costs everyone else more money in the end.

Yes. They will. Don't let the people on this board shame you into thinking this is something only poor people would do (not that there is any shame in being poor, either). I know lots of very wealthy people, and none of them got to where they are by accepting bad deals and being too passive to demand better.

DH bought 2 mums at Costco a couple weeks ago - one is doing great and the other is 80% dead. Both have the exact same care/water/sun. I'd have no problem returning the dead one as a matter of Costco policy but there's zero chance DH or I would do anything but put the dead plant in the yard waste pile. I'm not proud nor ashamed, and not poor, I just know that's what will happen.

Yes, I did. I thought problem might be the partial shade but I quickly moved them to full sun and it didn't help. Never had a problem before this year.

OMG you don't have much sense. They are hard to kill, but yes, they do better with lots of water and SHADE. Try planting them with some compost or fetilizier and they might come back.

Funny. Mums.org says full sun.

Mine are out in sun and huge. You just have to water them when you first get them.
You are incompetent at mum care, OP.

Maybe but that's why I shop at Costco! Sorry it made your panties bunch up ladies!

You know that frivolous returns make prices increase for all of us, right? It sounds like you're not a great gardener (no shade, neither am I) and the $20 won't make or break your budget, so it would be more ethical to take this as a lesson learned and eat the cost.

You are a bad person and should feel bad about yourself.

A USED mattress that he "messed up"???? NASTY.

You are the reason no one can make any real returns anywhere when we get stuff that's actually damaged or broken.

I have brought back perennials that died but most place will guarantee perennials for one year.

I would not bring back mums. You probably didn’t take care of it properly.

We buy a bag of oranges from Costco every other week. The cost has doubled since last year. In each bag that we buy, half of the oranges are bad but we don't return the bags to Costco. It happens every single time. Yet we buy for the 50% that are good. I find it embarrassing to return fresh produce or flowers or plants. I wouldn't have even thought about returning mums. I am not rich either.

Every 20 bucks adds up. It’s the poor people who don’t understand that.

We’re all paying for these types of returns. The money retailers lose on paying customers back for their own ineptitude is just rolled into higher prices.

So, no, I wouldn’t return them, unless there was some sort of evidence I took home a diseased plant. I still probably wouldn’t, but that would be legitimate reason to.

Rude and mean.
