What area schools have strong girls crew

Thought the NCS Fresh(wo)men coach was a woman.

Any recruits announced for the 2018s?

I'm betting there will be at least three. It's a great team.

There ended up being seven (7) college rowing recruits that year. That was truly a great team -- both their 1st and 2nd varsity boats.

Holton only occasionally sends rowers to be recruited, but it’s almost always through club teams outside of school. I think there’s one this year but could be mistaken

What a completely disingenuous statement. First no schools recruit for crew (as that's the specific sport being discussed here) as crew doesn't start until 9th grade in any school and there is no "rec or club crew" so there is no one to recruit for crew. Second Holton does recruit for sports in that they try to get girls who are good at certain sports to come there. I have first hand experience with that (lacrosse). Holton isn't the only school that does that (try to get girls who excel at certain sports to come to their school) but they definitely do it.

PP evidently does not know what “disingenuous” means.

I'm the parent of a rower at NCS. There is a new NCS head coach this year (there also were new coaches last year, but the head coach moved out of the area over the summer so they had to hire someone new). So far, the new head coach is great. He seems concerned about improving the team culture. NCS did not have a brilliant showing last year because the pandemic made training difficult, but has been very strong in past years. Three of this year's seniors (2022) have been recruited (Harvard (lightweight), Columbia and Brown). Other seniors have not been recruited so there's no guarantee.

NCS has the best girls crew team by a mile - they're often one of the best teams in the country. Last year their 1st and 2nd eights both won at Stotesbury.

Holton's smaller boats usually do well. I think Visi is working on making their crew team better.

Yes this NCS is the nest by far. They are one of the best in the country. Several recruited every year.
