When you travel, do you look for deals? Would you pay $1k/night for a hotel?

BTW, I'm in the camp of spending about $200 for a room, but have splurged in the past and stayed in a place that was about $500. I could definitely tell the difference, but a room is a room is a room.

And I'm not talking about a $500 ROOM versus a $1000 SUITE. So, I'm not asking about getting more rooms/bathrooms for the night - I understand that. I'm saying all things equal (just a hotel ROOM) - what's the difference once you hit that luxury point?

Here you go, same hotel:

Does the one in pic "a" with the Ed have ACCESS to a pool and the beach? If so, not worth it.

It's a preference. If the beach one (a) was $100, then I would agree with you (even $200). The beach one is not worth $600 for me , no reason to spend that much on it. Ocean one is a completely different experience. Same hotel, same amenities. They have more expensive villas.
