Maybe it just means what it means, then. Does seem like he could be going out on a limb or "fishing" to see if you'd reciprocate the sentiment. Are you sure you reached out in a "platonic" way? Are you both single?

Not true, sometimes it can be platonic and you don't care about a person you dumped. But if you think of them all the time then it isn't. Unless you're thinking of ways to kill them and dispose of the body

I texted him the night before with the info. Didn't hear back until the next morning at about 10am with his response and this tacked onto the end. He is gainfully employed with regular work hours
