Expectant and Postpartum Moms
| The tech at our first ultrasound said "You've got a swimmer!," so we called him Swimmer. DS is two months old, and our family still calls him Swimmer sometimes. |
| This is our second, so we call him "new baby". |
| Baby Bits. My sister has two daughters that we call Big Bits and Little Bits... so mine is Baby Bits. |
| Baby J, all my husband asked for was the baby to have a "J" name, but we didn't know if it was going to be a boy or girl, so we just called him Baby J. Well now we know he's a boy, we still can't let go of the Baby J. We have all of our family calling him that too! |
| Parasite. |
Awww, that is so sweet! |
| Pickle. It stuck after a particularly rough couple of days caused me to ask my husband "how did you get me into this pickle?" |
Obito--for Our Bun In The Oven.
|
| we called my first daughter, "Kicky" because she was WILD in there. Haven't come up with a name yet for #2, gotta wait to see the in-utero personality... |
|
Frank.
It is the name that my DS calls all of his imaginary friends
|
| Parasite |
Kepler, after Johannes Kepler, my husband's favorite astrologer. I don't really know how it got started, but even the grandparents-to-be call him that now! We're keeping the real name under wraps until he gets here.

Poppy seed.
babycenter said that at 4 weeks that was the size of the baby, so that was the name |
|
We're also changing food names week to week based on size - blueberry, kumquat, limey (that was one of my favorites, it stuck for a few weeks), avocado, sweet potato.
I had a friend whose husband dubbed theirs "Cletus the Fetus." |
"Guppy," because we thought of the fetus as kind of like a little fish swimming around in there. (I know, not biologically accurate, but we thought it was cute anyway!)
