Well that changes everything! Your 13 year old has spoken and now we should all follow her advice. Whatever she doesn't like isn't cool, right?
Good grief. Who is your DD? Nobody just yet so who cares what she thinks? Or you for that matter. Fact is Taylor Swift is talented, beautiful, smart and very successful. We can talk when you or your DD is as successful and well known. Until then...bye-bye! |
| I wonder if she's talking about Kanye or the guy who groped her? |
Or Katy Perry who tried to use her to drum up interest in her own lame album this summer. Or she could be talking about fame itself/the public who turned her into this "snake." I like it. |
|
I heard the new song this morning. I kind of like the tune and beat, but the words are really, really immature. I feel like at some point, she should be showing some personal growth and I'm just seeing it. At what point does she decide that she's done calling out ex-boyfriends and rival singers and actually sing about something real and not shallow?
(and no, not some jealous hater, just think that when a person is putting their lifestyle and their work out in the public eye, it is our right to form opinions about it.) |
|
I don't care about her personal drama. I think some of her music has been great, some of it has been meh, and none of it particularly memorable.
This new song is just awful. |
+1 She has not demonstrated any emotional or artistic growth. She is a 28 year old mega successful artist and business woman. Surely she views the world as the complex ecosystem that it is. I do not sense that from her music. She seems perpetually stuck at 16 screaming revenge on mean girls who steal her man. GROW UP. |
| I really thought Katy Perry's Swish Swish song was going to be the worst diss track / beef song of the year. Lucky for Katy, this Taylor song takes the cake, crown, and ribbon for lamest attempt at a diss track of the decade. |
+1000. I think you nailed it here. Like you said, she's extremely successful and has accomplished a lot. And yet, her music (more particularly the topics of her music) don't seem to reflect that? The flaw in this will catch with her at some point. |
I agree. I think Taylor does romance songs best. I love her love lyrics. "Say you'll remember me/standing in a white dress/ staring at the sunset/ red lips and rosy cheeks/say you'll see me again even if its just in your wildest dream" or "I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car, He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel, The other on my heart, I look around, turn the radio down, he says, "baby is something wrong?" I say "nothing, I was just thinking how we don't have a song, " And he says, Our song is a slamming screen door, Sneaking out late tapping on your window, When we're on the phone and you talk real slow, 'Cause it's late and your mama don't know, Our song is the way you laugh, The first date man I didn't kiss her when I should have, And when I got home, before I said amen, Asking God if He could play it again." SOO much better than "Look what you made me do" |
I 100% believe this. She and Diana Agron were together pretty nonstop for a few months and nothing since. |
What song is that second lyric from? I really like it. |
Our Song |
| I can't tell what I dislike more, the song itself (which I think sounds terrible) or the TSwift fans acting like it's the best song ever written. This isn't something to be screaming "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!" over, that's for sure. |
| She's a lying, conniving hag. She's got her goody two shoes image to construct and maintain and that's all that matters to her. Everyone else is to be used to that effect and discarded/destroyed if they don't serve her purposes. I hope someone takes this bitch down soon. |
lmao how many times are you going to comment that? She's definitely not trash and pretty sure her millions and millions of dollars prove that. |
