Cheapest place to get organic baby food?

Anonymous
We use Plum Organics and Earth's Best. Plum Organics I buy at Safeway where they are often on sale. Buy Buy Baby also has a promotion where you buy 15 and get a $5 gift card, so I use that a lot. Whole Foods has these also so I get them there when I order Instacart. Not sure if it's the cheapest though. I'm wary of buying online since many people complain about expired or poor quality products being delivered.

The meat is pretty gross, TBH. Cook the meat however you would otherwise (boil, though blech, bake, pan fry, grill), then dice it up small and put it in the food processor with some water or broth.

It isn't gross if you cook it with other things (veggies, broth, spices). I would whip up a pan of chix breast, diced, simmered with carrots, parsnips, finely diced green onions, etc. When cooked, shred the chix, then freeze. DH used to eat a lot out of the pan before I could get it into the freezer pouches.

For OP, I don't have specific suggestions because I made all my kids' food but it seems you are best served by shopping the grocery store specials and stocking up.

Ok, yeah that sounds good. I should have posted a "how not to make my meat purée gnarly" thread when my kid was still on purees.

Ehhh no thanks. We do baby led weaning too, but I like to have baby food on hand.

I made my own baby food and always had it on hand. How hard is it to puree some carrots and stick them in an ice cube tray? Freeze and defrost as necessary.

Yeah, if you don't want to make it, then don't. But it's really simple to make a few batches of purees and keep them in the freezer. Especially if you're on a tight budget.

I did this and my baby rejected freezer food. I went to jarred food and never went back.
