Hey OP, my kid graduated from Daniels Run and now from Lanier. She was an award winner at Lanier and has all As except in honors Algebra, a HS level course, to her chagrin She had a great experience at Lanier for the past two years. I was impressed with the school. My kid has some issues - ADHD, LGBT, Gender non conforming. The school was really supportive and responsive and she was very successful there.
My youngest is now in Daniels Run and I've been very impressed with the new Principal. The school had about 700 kids the last time I checked but still feels small - Principal and staff know my name and my child. We only had one bad teacher in our years at DRE and she's gone now - I think, thanks to the new Principal. Let me know if you want any other info. |
It is definitely a neighborhood school. There are a huge number of walkers. We live in Fairchester Woods and my kids are always pointing out who lives where when we ride our bikes around the neighborhood. It is the same in Mosby Woods. I can drive through there and point out many of my kids' friends' homes. |
OK, gotcha. Our neighborhood is just north of George Mason U. off 123 so we feel a little isolated from the school. |
