Trump-related sign at Wood Acres Elementary?

It sounds like they came prepared with their own store bought letters, so it sounds premeditated & not a drunken teen joke as they happen to be walking by the sign (although the language tends to point at teens ("ew"??).

No need to worry that children were traumatized by this.
It was done late overnight & a neighbor who was walking their dog in the early morning hours saw the message & removed it before anyone else could see, then they called the police.

Destroying evidence, huh?

hope they called secret service to launch a full investigation and dust for prints and DNA and all

Thanks for posting. If it really was adults who came and did this with store bought letters, it just seems pretty pathetic to me. Really?

No. Still funny

School's out for the summer.

Umm, is there a playground there? Probably kids are still playing on the playground. And is there a summer camp there? KAH does camp at our school so there are a good amount of kids there for the summer.

Definitely a crappy thing to do. Like Trump or not, he's the president. Pretty obnoxious.

There is no camp there. The Wood Acres community has a pool. All of the kids are there. No kids were traumatized.

You must have Wood Acres confused with a different neighborhood- there is no pool in Wood Acres, and the school most definitely holds summer camp. Plus the school is smack in a residential neighborhood and park where tons of kids play all summer. This is very disturbing to me, and I am no Trump supporter. If this isn't taken seriously, next comes the message with an anti-Semetic or racist message on it. You can't find it "funny" when it's about a cause or person you don't like, and then expect it to be taken seriously when it is about something you do care about.

Will it still be funny to you when the next person changes the sign to read 'Ew, Jews' or 'Ew, Christians'? Or it's just funny because you're not a Trump supporter?

I'm not a Trump supporter but posting this at an ES is just gross.

Sorry for just responding was away for the holiday weekend.
From what I've heard they're taking it seriously, as they don't want to simply chalk it up to harmless teen fun & then this leads to a rash of vandalism.
Like the previous poster mentioned, it starts with this but who knows where it may lead.

Someone also mentioned dusting for prints, but since the neighbor walking their dog chose to remove the letters themselves, that pretty much nullified any attempt they could have in doing so.

I don't think that this incident is going to cause is to go into a panicked police state, however law enforcement will be looking out for more incidents like this.

Regardless if it was teens or not, whoever did this has to remember that more and more people have motion detector recordings of their yards, driveways, etc now (especially with the rash of car break ins Bethesda has been experiencing... lock your car doors people, it takes 2 seconds).
Those home recordings can be used as evidence to identify perpetrators in crimes like this & more and more often, residents are handing them forward to the police to assist in their investigation.

So even if this was kids this time, they should thank their lucky stars that they weren't caught & NEVER do this again, because next time this happens... they WILL make an example out of the perpetrators, no matter how old they are.

Had there been an Obama sign posted would there have been a thread about it?

I also appreciate the update, thank you!

Regarding the question posted here, i think there definitely would have been a post if the same thing had happened to Obama, however the thread would have had a completely different feel to ii.

Even if the sign would have been worded the same exact way (Ew, Obama, etc), this would have pointed to racism, rather than someone or someone's who simply disagreed with him as President.

Even if they came prepared with their own letters, I'm still pretty sure it was high school kids pranking.

The Bethesda B "home of arts" sign outside the Bethesda library was rather professionally painted to read "home of farts" a year ago.

Motivated kids with an idea, money and access to a hardware store are more than capable of pulling this off. Plus, I can't think why an adult would be motivated to do this when they would be more likely to just rant about Trump on Facebook (or DCUM). .

BAHAHAHAHA!

Now THAT is funny... please tell me someone got a photo of it??

I happen to agree with everything you said, but LE is going to take it seriously because its a threat against our President.
So even if it was teens, I'm afraid the going to come under the same wrath as an adult would.
Had it been about farts, not so much... killing our President is another story.
