We know that Seth’s personal email and his personal computer were both inspected by detectives early in the investigation and that the inspection revealed no evidence of any communications with anyone at WikiLeaks or anyone associated with WikiLeaks. Nor did that inspection reveal any evidence that Seth had leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks or to anyone else.

The investigation is not being shutdown. The MPD is continuing to investigate. What is different about this murder investigation is that it is being politicized by conspiracy theorists.

Did you miss Brennan's testimony? He explicitly said that investigation was warranted.

What federal crime are you theorizing is involved in Rich's murder?

Brennan said he saw contacts between Russians and Trump people but the contacts could be benign. He didn't give a clear answer what triggered the federal investigation. Our government, Hillary campaign also made regular contacts with Russians. Why didn't we investigate those contacts?

I think Podesta was associated because of his email stating he has no problem making an example of a suspected leaker.

It's strange that a so-called Bernie supporter is not interested in finding out what really happened to Seth Rich. He may have lost his life for getting some justice for Bernie from the corrupt DNC.

Why do posters keep asking about the location of the laptop? You folks clearly know nothing about computer forensics. Nobody ever does forensics on the actual computer. This is true both for Rich's laptop and the DNC's servers. You make an image of the drive (and memory) and then copy that image and work on the copy (or copies). Otherwise you risk corrupting the original data. The MPD examined Rich's laptop. They would have made an image which they likely still have. Since nothing was found on the laptop, it could be returned to its owner. Based on statements by Rich's family, it appears they may have the laptop (at least they have said that neither the MPD or FBI has it). But, that does not mean that the MPD doesn't have a copy of the data that was on the laptop. For what it is worth, while the FBI never got access to the DNC's servers, they would have had access to images of the servers.
