annoying things people do at the gym

Some of the staff aren't there to help as far as I'm concerned. They spend more time trying to pick up women and men.

But why does this even bother you? Not slowing you down, not impacting your workout. Who cares?

I mean, unless they are hogging the mirror putting on lipstick why do you think they should wash their face before exercising. I'm coming from work, going to the grocery store after, and stopping by inlawas on the way home, why should I remove makeup to only put back on later?

I'm just embarrassed for you because you look like a tool.

Really, this sounds like insecurity on your part. I don't wear makeup at the gym, but if you're really spending that devoting that much mental space to something that doesn't affect your workout at all, it sounds like you're stressing out at the gym instead of enjoying the endorphins exercise provides.

Sorry, PP. This poster is right. You sound pathetically insecure. I'm a marathon runner and fitness instructor. I work out hard. I almost always have make up on at the gym. I couldn't tell you if other women do because I do not care. I'm not at the gym to critique what other people are wearing. My advise to you - Focus on your own workout. In class we tell people to keep their focus on their own mat.

This. You're not impressing anyone or getting any guy. A guy who wants an athletic girl knows true athletic girls don't wear makeup to work out.

BUT what if it is left over from the night before? I am lazy and don't wash my face if I am going to the gym in the AM

Personal training sessions that take up a lot room and equipment.

I squat my own bodyweight and I wear makeup to the gym. I go straight from work and I could remove it, I just don't. Sometimes I end up with black smudges under my eyes from sweat, but I really don't care.

Ew. So bad for your skin.

Not the PP- but I do the same. It's fine for your skin.

Why are you looking at people's makeup? Shouldn't you be working out?
Your 5k time isn't that impressive. Non athlete here that can also run a sub 20:00 5k

LOL...if you're a dude, that's not that impressive. If you're a chick, prove it.

Gosh, this thread is devolving into real silliness- as expected.

It's silly and insecure for the makeup haters to think that people wearing makeup at the gym are insecure/trying to snag a man/not actually interested in fitness.
And it's silly and defensive for the makeup lovers to put down the makeup haters' fitness records or to say the makeup haters must be out of shape.

I would like to hate the makeup wearers at my gym but one of the best instructors I've had ever in my life has a body like a Barbie doll and wears a face full of makeup for every class she teaches so I can't judge. Plus I want to ask her what products she buys because it all stays put.

The post asks to list annoying things at the gym. None of the other shit annoys me. Women in full makeup (including lipstick!) even on weekends...annoys me because they are so obviously desperately trying to meet a man. It gives us all a bad name.

Women "inadvertently" wearing your exercise attire much too tight, flaunting the camel toe to anyone with eyes. Speaking of distractions....

No, it doesn't mean that. It probably means they're feeling a little insecure about themselves, or came from something prior where they wore makeup.

How on earth does it give you a bad name? Your workout is your workout, not anyone else's. You seem painfully insecure - focus on yourself and getting your best workout and women wearing makeup wouldn't irritate you any more than color coordinating her headband to her outfit.
