Girl. I know a toddler girl named Harper. Don't choose this name because you think it's unique. It's not. It's going to be trendy. I think it's the next "Riley".

Girl. I really like the name. Who cares if it's trendy? I'm sure most of the moms and dads on this board have names that are common for our generation. The world would be a boring place if we were all named Elizabeth or Katherine.

I tend to think girl. It's a distinctive name, but I don't think of it as "pretty," as several others have posted, because of the hard sounds in it.

I've known two girl Harpers, no boys. Both were from the South. Went to college with a Harper and she was cool and smart and very nice.
