I think boy, but it would work for both.
Girl. And it's beautiful--we seriously considered it.

I think of a boy - but I think it is an androgenous name. Incidentally, Harper Lee's full name is actually Nelle Harper Lee (love To Kill A Mockingbird too, btw!)
Cool name either way! |
I know a woman named Harper.
Boy name

Girl.
This is one of those rare names that really can be either boy or girl! I know two Harpers, one of each.

girl (probably bc of Harper Lee... though for a while I didn't know if Harper Lee was male or female)
I know it's a girl's name, but I think boy when I hear it.
Girl, and add me to the list that thinks of Harper Lee and To Kill a Mockingbird.

I think girl, and I also think about Harper Lee.
That being said, I love the name and would have seriously considered it for our DD except my parents had a cat named Boo, then a dog named Scout and then added one more cat and, of course, named her Harper. However, our experience aside, I don't think it is a particularly common pet or person name, and I think it is lovely. |
Girl. A friend just used this for her baby girl. I agree it's cute but definitely trendy.
Girl. I also have a friend who just nemed her baby girl Harper...pretty name.
