Trump threatens Comey

I don't think Nixon threatened American citizens. Trump makes Nixon look like an angel.

Time for Republicans to stand up for the country. Silence = complicity

Nixon also never sold out our country to a hostile foreign power. Although Nixon was despicable in many ways, he would NEVER betray his country to our enemies. Trump on the other hand doesn't care as long as HE WINS.

Many parts of this are disturbing, but for me the most dangerous part is -- what has Trump told/promised Russia?

Thread title is silly. Trump "threatened" Comey with the truth. "If you don't tell the truth, I'll show the world tape evidence, if there's any."

And you think this is OK? Jesus.

If Trump had a tape of his conversation contradicting Comey's friend's version, he would have already released it. Gimme a break.

It's called Executive Priviledge and I would hope that anyone conversing with a President, off the record or not, and especially a member of the administration would respect that confidentiality. I really think Trump is just saying that Comey should adhere to the protocol of the office, something any President would expect. You really are blowing this way out of proportion, but that seems to be the way these days. This is why Trump is always tweeting, not because he is an attention whore, he is probably just trying to get the truth out there, not the media talking point. The left is coming at him full throttle day and night and has been for sometime now, with no signs of stopping. Most of us who support Trump have gotten use to it and simply tune out and turn off any of the left's noise at this point, you are falling on deaf ears. In fact, you seem a little crazy at this point. Hopefully Trump will learn to ignore anything they say, press or not, and stop thinking he can change the left's minds. It won't happen, ever. He will never get the press to cover him fairly and he will never get the support of the left. And it saddens me to add that I will never be able to find anything in common with the left, you are too confrontational and controlling for my needs. This really saddens me, for my children and my country.

You are delusional. Or in bad faith.

I admit -- I have no idea what is going on anymore. Seems like firing Comey was just going to lead to more attention to the Russia issue... So why do it? And now the tweet? I have no idea and honestly don't want to waste another brain cell trying to figure it out. I think it will all come out in due time.

Like Obama never got the support of the right. Not that two wrongs make a right -- but honestly what do you expect?

The man lies so much not sure he would even know what the truth is anymore.

Too confrontational and controlling?! And you support Trump?! How absurd.

Do you not think if there was evidence of that we would know it? It would have been revealed long ago. Even the Democrats in Congress have said there is no evidence of that.
This is just your wishful thinking. Were you concerned when Obama said to tell Putin that he would be more flexible after the election? We do have evidence of that.

Sorry, my eyes just popped out of my head from rolling so hard. But seriously, I'm so sorry you are sad, for your children and your country. Prayers.

By the way, there is no "d" in privilege. It's privilege, not priviledge, and there is no such thing as an "executive privilege," or "executive priviledge," that allows presidents to tweet threats designed to impede a federal investigation.

Is anyone else so angry right now at the stupidity that exists in the U.S.? We live among fools and the head fool is running our country.

I don't like Huma Abedine, but what Comey did was wrong and he potentially could do a lot of damage. The way our news agencies work, they will report without fact checking, and simply push forward sensational news if it means more viewers.

Trump is right to be concerned, and is simply reminding Comey very publicly that he should be careful about the facts he puts forward. It's a reminder also to the news networks that they should hesitate to accept what Comey has to say in light of his recent error regarding Huma Abedine.

And his erroneous remarks were officially corrected in writing by the FBI. He should have made that mistake, but once made, it was handled well.
