Just for the record, I'm a PP who posted that a USC degree is basically meaningless outside of the state of SC. Guess what. I grew up in Columbia. I know of which I speak. |
Both Miami of Ohio and USC are regional schools. Most state schools don't carry a lot of weight outside of their regions, aside from the handful of elites. Even UVA isn't that big of a deal outside of the northeast. |
What is this magical weight that you think some college degrees carry? Just more D.C.-area obsession with status and degrees that doesn't really speak to anything other than this area's unique obsessions. |
Obviously, PP, you did not go to a top school! If you did, you'd know. |
PP here. I was defending the OP's daughter's choice to go to USC. My point was in response to the posters who were insisting that Miami is superior. The reality is that they are roughly peers, and neither is that big of a deal. |
Tru dat! And then their kids go to SLACs where they engage in SJW tactics to defend against racism, sexism and other perceived ills by shutting down free speech, engaging in childish protests all while Mommy & Daddy shell out $50 - $60K per year so they can eat gourmet, farm sourced meals in the dining hall and continue to be told how "special" they are. They continue the bubble for another generation. |
I went to Princeton. I've also hired kids who went to George Mason and fired other Ivy grads. |
