I've met a number of Janney parents who attended the Harvard Law School. Regardless of profession, the Janney parent community on the whole seems to be highly educated. Parents clearly value and seek out the best educational opportunities for their kids. This is one of the school's great strengths IMHO.

and there are a lot of Janney parents who didn't attend HLS or elite schools and just like to be associated with those who have.

Mann is a great school, certainly up there with Janney. Mann's only drawback is that it feeds to Hardy rather than top-rated Deal, which kinda' sucks.

And there are even more Janney parents who couldn't care less who went to Harvard Law School. As others have pointed out, it's not exactly an exceptional profile in this town. I know it's a popular sport on these boards to cast Janney parents as ultra pretentious, but that's not my experience at all - although some of them probably are, just like some of the upper SES types at any other DC school.

And, by the way, if she is serious, we send our own kids to a different NW public school. Janney and Lafayette are fine, but really not any better than a number of others.
