Sidwell friends loves primary day school

Nonsensical chain.

Yes this is crazy. What's going on here. Does the school need help or the people?

Op here. No I have no affiliation with primary day. I have a kid in Sidwell lower school and we just learned the makeup of the incoming third grade class. 7 from primary day, some siblings but not all. Given how competitive entry it is I just thought it worth noting that that was remarkable that pds kids got more than half the slots for that acceptance class. Primary day kids are very impressive. Sad that everything on this NBA has to devolve into name calling and conspiracy mongering.

Op here again. Bbs not NBA,

Why on earth would the school share this information with current parents? Especially before the commitment deadline?

No way this is true. No school will share this information, especially with the current parents of the target school. Other schools are telling their kids not to talk about it, decisions are still being made, wait lists will move, etc. Absurd.

Actually it was shared. There was even a newsletter about the school's. It's really kind of sad. It made Some of families that are going public upset.

At Sidwell or PDS? If at PDS, that is incredibly sensitive to families that did not have the choices they wanted. If at Sidwell, as a previous PP says, that's just bizarre.

This information does get shared with parents who make calls to new students, but I've never heard of any of those parents sharing it widely.

The newsletter mentioned all the schools were PDS students were headed next yet. It's not like Sidwell was singled out. Wow folks are hypersensitive about what should be viewed as an impressive accomplishment for the kids and can't seem to handle that an under the radar school (on DCUM at least) did so well with exmissions.

It's unusual for a school to share this information so early because people are not always happy with the choices they have available at this point in the process. If all the graduating kids already have places in schools their families are happy with, I would say that's an even bigger achievement for PDS than having 7 kids accepted at Sidwell.

I think it's a fair inference that the all graduating kids likely have places, and the newsletter was IMO discreet about details. It didn't mention specific numbers and merely stated that, in addition to "excellent" public schools, the "largest number of children" have enrolled at a list of four independent schools (of which Sidwell was one) while others will attend [another group of four independent schools].

I'm a PDS parent and agree with this.
