I agree. The woman said, "I'm sorry this happened to you."

Lady, "it" didn't happen. You did.

Glad her scummy boyfriend is going to jail for a long time. Pointing a shotgun at a guests for a kid's birthday party? Let alone the racial slurs and Confederate flags. I can't even contemplate.

Yeah - I didn't understand her comment "this isn't me. this isn't us." Uh - yeah, it is. Take responsibility for your actions. Hopefully they will change, but they are certainly capable of this hate crime.

I am shook to my core. Things like this should NEVER happen, especially to children. I guess this is Trump's America
How is this Trumps America? It happened under obama's watch if you are going to blame the potus for what individuals do, at least blame the potus in charge during the time of the event.

It's because white supremacists, neo-confederates, KKK and others all rallied behind Trump in ways we have not seen since the 1950s, and Trump constantly spoke in language that energized and empowered them, Trump demonized and marginalized minorities hated by folks like the ones in the article, they all unequivocally saw Trump as taking America back for white people and as a spokesperson for their movement. And, in the run-up to the election and afterward there were hundreds of hate crimes against minorities reported, many of which were committed in Trump's name - an unprecedented spike. And no, they weren't "fake news" - out of the 1000+ that were reported, only 13 turned out to be hoaxes or fake.

Ludicrous to compare this to Obama.
The event in question did not happen under the Trump administration. To blame this event as "Trump's America" is disingenuous.

Trump's America = the people who elected Trump. David Duke loves Trump. Enough said.
