What's this? You're telling me I can't participate in the democratic process? How unpatriotic of you PP. I don't have an elected representative, and thus I have no say over how those dollars are spent. Right now, I'm relying on Chaffetz, an idiot from Utah, who thinks he knows what's best for the District. I don't want a Republican controlled Congress because it's not in my best interests. I'm glad you're "on to" me. Unseating Comstock by making donations and campaigning for candidates to oppose her are well within my rights and are about focusing on my party. If there's a townhall or protest to attend, I'll do those as well. And I'll continue to stay engaged with what's happening here in the District. Not sure what you mean by "politics of personal destruction." If it means exercising the rights I have as a US citizen that lead to a different candidate being elected in 2018, then guilty as charged. |
Having people from outside her district attending townhalls and participating in protests, in her district, just helps to support the R talking points. Donate money and work for the opposing candidate, but folks need to be strategic. |
| Based on the news reports, Congresswoman Comstock never agreed to be at this forum. How can you say she is a no-show? That's like saying my date, (insert adorable hunk actor here), was a no-show at my dinner party this weekend. I told him I wanted him there! |

Well, she cancelled on scheduled events from her own calendar.
And during the campaign, did only 2 debates in very safe places (chamber events, IIRC - big money people who love her). Her telephone town halls do not allow for free exchange - it is tightly controlled and citizens have very little chance to ask their questions. |
Shhh, you might trigger them. They have very thin skins. |
|
| Ahahah, she apparently got a "Doctor" to plant a question re: the ACA during this televised town hall, too. You can't make this shit up: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/barbara-comstock-townhall-question_us_58adec9ae4b057efdce88931 |
OMG - first candidate to ever do that |
|
21:15 - do you not understand how this is a problem? We have no idea if she's actually answering constituent questions during these town halls. They are probably ALL plants, and she's claiming this to be "meeting her constituents"
Yeah, no. She needs to show up in public and talk to people. That is her job. She is hiding from us and thinks she can get away with this shit. |
She does need to publicly talk with folks. However, it should come as no surprise that she doesn't want to engage with people that will never vote for her and will shout her down and not let her answer questions. She's acting like a politician. Why are some people surprised? |
Hey Barbara, quit having your fake doctor friends call in, and DO YOUR JOB. |
we pay her damn salary and she is elected to represent all of us, not just the ones who agree wth her. She and the rest of the spineless mofos need to be reminded of that. |
All well and good, my dear, but you forget the power of tradition and the visual image needed by the media of the authentic Town Hall. There will be HUGE pressure on all sides to do regular Town Hall meetings, instead of invisible phone conferences. So politicians refusing to face their constituents in person will go down in flames. But everyone knows the Dems are trying to stage riots at ALL republican townhalls while on recess. So you've already lost your photo ops because the Republicans aren't playing ball. No one cares about the tradition of town halls if they are going to be abused, which is why the liberals are urging protests and irresponsible rioting at ALL Townhalls across the nation, not just Comstock's. |
A) The article is from Huff Post therefore inherently unreliable B) nowhere in the article does it say that she arranged for that doctor to call in C) You are the libs trying to tear down everything that is good in this country. You lost the election. Grow up. D) I gave a lot more to Barbara's campaign and no one from her campaign staff (she would not make the call herself, you idiot - that's a violation of campaign laws) call me and ask me to set up a phony question. E) This is part of a national movement by libs to protest and disrupt all Townhalls in the United States. Don't even pretend you are posting here just against Barbara. The DC poster proves that - they aren't even in the 10th district so why would they care? Because they want to make the ignorant think Barbara is really running from these Townhalls. Shame on all of you. Become responsible citizens and change your own party and start to fix things, not tear them down. |

No one is inciting riots. Stop getting your news from info wars.
She is dodging her own constituents. She doesn't show up at local events that a representative normally would. She's skipped events that were on her calendar. She isn't scheduling meetings with constituents in her district offices. She is not carrying out the duties of representing her district. |
