Madeline McCann was not kidnapped. Her parents covered up an accidental death.

OP- I've done it to go to the next room. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the floor though.

That was discredited years ago....

What? No. I thought everyone knew this wasn't a kidnapping. Cadaver dogs? There are other threads on this.

At what age is it reasonable to leave a child alone in a hotel room while you're downstairs?
Anonymous
No. So many shady characters have access to hotel rooms m

Has anyone left their sleeping 2 year old who never wakes up in a crib while their are sleeping in a hotel room alone to go downstairs in the same building while you had a video monitor on them at all times? It seems wrong but is it any different that being on another floor of a home?

100% wrong if you have to ask chances are you know that too

We used to do this when my daughter was 2-3 and a very good sleeper. I would use a monitor and we'd usually sit just outside the room in a lobby or garden. I would never have left her if she wasn't a good sleeper or if I couldn't use the monitor. Go ahead and judge but she was going to bed at 7 pm back in those days. We would get a sitter if we wanted to go to a dinner or such but not to just hang out in the hotel.

This sounds totally reasonable. A lot of parents are really overprotective.

Can you leave the kid home with a relative and go to the work function kid-free??? Why is a toddler tagging along in the first place?

My kids normally sleep like logs. But when we travel, all bets are off. I hear them wake and sort out where they are and then try to put themselves back to sleep, often.

What happened to Madeline McCann is a non-issue. The reason we bring it up is that it is so unusual.

What???

I think what PP means is: is there another case of a child being g abducted from a hotel? You can't make decisions based on exceedingly rare one off events, no matter how tragic.

+ 1000x

To this day, no one has any idea what happened to this child.

It is probably the worst life regret the parents have sadly.

I wouldn't. Crap happens. What. Age is ok to leave a child? I don't know.
