When I read this I am reminded why i
Don't want to move out of DC. All my friends are here and it seems next to impossible to make friends in your 30s outside of superficial mom friends at your kids school. Even though moving out of DC would better for our family I don't want to be friendless in anew city.

I have seen clicks in almost every church I have set foot in, on top of that, those are people are very judgemental and know 1% about you.

To the ones married w/kids, what happened pre-marriage? Did you not have friends then either? Marriage should not change existing friendships.

Ever heard of meetup.com? The OP (and maybe yourself if you move away from DC) needs to do a search on there for hobbies, and try to meet people that way.

Join a bunch of meet up groups or make your own! I live in Georgia now and it's so much harder to make friends here. I'm not really into football and it's VERY popular here. I have found it easier to make friends with Indians/ Bangladeshi women than Americans. My husband is Indian and I've met lots of women at events.
