My kids know better, but yes if it happens then it's the homeowners fault. You can't expect all kids to do the right thing...they are KIDS. Time to let go of the unrealistic expectations. |
OP's right. You're probably reading a bunch of entitled little pricks, too. |
Everybody knows that the candy provided never MEANT for your privileged little snowflake to TAKE THE WHOLE BOWL. Ergo, it was theft. |
I'm sure even in your neighborhood at least one candy bowl fell victim to a candyscapade before the night came to a close. This is nothing new or surprising. Happens everywhere, some candy bowls win-- and some lose. |
Lighten up, Francis |
I don't think it's the end of the world (or even necesssarily shocking) that these kids emptied the bowl.
What's terrible is for parents to be defending it as no big deal. It is not okay to do this. It is entitled behavior. If I found out this was my kid, I would make him write an apology letter to the home owner on principle. I'm just surprised (or maybe I shouldn't be) that so many parents think this is no big deal. |
Oh boy, it was a mistake made by a child. And, of course, when kids make mistakes we talk to them about it and make sure that they know not to do it again.
Pranks like taking a whole bowl of candy or smashing pumpkins might be old as the hills. But that doesn't mean that it's good behavior. |
Lol, no it was not. It doesn't become theft based on how many pieces you take. Unless they took the bowl itself? But taking candy that was put out? Not theft. |

I don't think that anybody here has said that it was OK ... unclear why you are so worked up about it. |

Hahahahaha. |
This was mentioned yesterday in another thread. Didn't need to be a thread of its own. |
OMG! You are the 1st person who was pregnant during Halloween.... turn off your light and relax. |
