I am astounded that the FBI is investigating this. The man did not meet anyone in real life. He mistakenly sexted with an oversexed teen (who should be scolded by her parents.)

He should (and prob. already has) get some counseling. I feel bad for Huma too.

It is awful that their personal issues are all over the media.

This is a "sex scandal" with zero actual sex.

How do you know that Weiner never met with the girls or women?

I agree, Huma rode his coat tails for the opportunities it could give her. I have very little doubt she knew what a totally scum bag he was, but chose to stay married to him for further opportunities. She got what she had coming to her.

Do you know this? Where has it said he refused treatment?

Often people like this are wrongly treated - "therapists" never refer to psychiatry for meds and see behavior as a chooce which needs only stronger will. Or paychiatrist chooses stimulant or antidepressant, which makes things worse.

I think it's entirely unclear what treatment Weiner has had or refused.

Getting proper treatment is not as easy as one thinks.

If Bloomberg hadn't changed the rules to get a third term as NYC mayor, Weiner would have run and won in 2008.

He'd still be the same asshole he is now, but because he was mayor, he would have been insulated and defended, much as Bill Clinton was as president.

There's some information out there about Huma's mother - her very traditional belief system that pushes women into subservient as framed under Islam, her mom's connection to the Muslim Sisterhood, and yes, articles on mutilation.
