Yeah, I don't like to be fussed over while shopping. I just hope that when I'm checking out, or if I have a question, the staff person I'm interacting with won't act like they resent my presence in their store. I always say please and thank you because I'm an adult who wasn't raised by wolves, and when I get a sullen glare and silence in return...urgh.
