He wasn't middle of the road. He talked hard right.

Even Trump who last I knew was both pro-choice and pro-single payer healthcare seems to have embraced the right to get through the primary, but he'll likely return to him more moderate roots as a East Coast liberal now that the primary is over.

His primary has been over for months and months. That guy is not coming back.

Who knows what he'll do. Once he's elected, he will do whatever he wants.

Hard right compared to most DCUM posters, but not really hard right.

no- Romney did NOT get creamed- it was pretty close for the fact that Obama was an incumbent which always gives an edge, that he'd done a pretty good job righting the free falling economy he'd inherited and we had a republican congress to 'check' him. 2.5 percentage points is not bad. we were republicans but voted for Obama b/c honestly no one is pursuing a fiscally responsible or conservative platform at this point and 2008- i wasn't going to tell my grandkids I was one of the a-holes who didn't vote for the 1st black president plus Palin. And I don't think its good for the country to have a one term president. I wish to God Romney had run now.

I'd never vote for Trump- he's a moron: he's got a totally progressive platform, he wants a huge federal government that regulates everything and interferes. Also he's got his head in the sand re: climate change is both real and a HUGE opportunity for economic innovation and growth. sigh i hate HRC too- USA is doomed They both suck.

This goes beyond Trump. For years the Republican party has been in fact denial.

As Chris Ladd, who blogs at GOPLifer.com, wrote in his resignation letter from the Republican Party:

At the national level, the delusions necessary to sustain our Cold War coalition were becoming dangerous long before Donald Trump arrived. From tax policy to climate change, we have found ourselves less at odds with philosophical rivals than with the fundamentals of math, science and objective reality.

(read the whole post here - https://goplifer.com/2016/07/22/resignation-letter/)

The Trump campaign is just applying the same methodology.

From Trump's charitable donations, to “the Star of David is actually a Sheriff’s Badge”, to the repeated claims that Melania's speech wasn't plagiarism.

Everyone's supporters are blind to facts that contradict their candidate or paint him or her in an unflattering light. And it's not that they are blind to facts; it's that they minimize them or explain them away or facts simply don't matter when you connect with someone. Trump is not special in this. Hillary's supporters also dismiss things that paint Hillary in a negative light. It's just the nature of the beast.

False equivalence. Hillary supporters have answers. Lately, all the pro-Trump posters on here are answering with words cribbed right from right wing radio and absolute lies. It's absolutely nuts, but they have been allowed to consume media that refuses to challenge their beliefs (global warming not being real, late term abortion being common, and Republicans caring about the little guy) and that's bleeding into the way they face the world. It's very sad. I say this as someone whose father has gone off the Fox end of the pool. He makes zero sense, he sounds completely hateful and it's absolutely pitiful. That's not who he is.

I am not a fan of HRC. But I am more anti-Trump then pro-HRC. So, come November, I will be voting for HRC. At this point, it's just picking the lesser of two evils. HRC may be evil, but Trump is evil + dumb. That's a bad combo.

Having answers doesn't mean anything. They have to be good answers. For a supporter, you can throw at them any facts you like, and at the end of the day it just Doesn't Matter because the alternative is worse, because they connect with the candidate, because whatever. The fact that you believe one side to be perfectly logical and the other perfectly vile tells me your worldview is just as polarized.

And this is a perfectly logical position because you are not in love with either.

Who knows what he'll do. Once he's elected, he will do whatever he wants.

The American political system is not set up to allow any one actor to do "whatever he wants."

When a "side" is completely counter to facts and reality?

Ok. Sure, we're totally nasty and rude.

But Trump is not just a liar, but also a racist, a bully, and stupid all at the same time. That's a deadly combo. At least HRC is not racist or stupid. Cunning? Yes. Stupid, no.

Please you can use the same words to describe HRC. Ask Obama if Hllary went after him on race? What about the server issue- stupid yes. Her constant use of the gender card- Bernie bros to describe the opposition. Using the DNC to attack her opponents. She is the same as Trump. You just refuse to see it.

Many a Republican politicians have used their own personal emails for work. Yes she was very stupid to use it exclusively, but in general, she is not a stupid women. I think she did so to keep the prying eyes of the gov't out of what she was doing. As I stated - cunning.

Whatever HRC has stated, it doesn't come close to the racist rhetoric Trump has spewed. And to add, he openly mocked a disabled person on national tv, and he has used some ugly words to describe women when they dared to attack his rhetoric, not to mention also attacking a man's physical appearance. People mock Trump's physical appearance, yes, but neither HRC nor Sanders have done so to Trump on national tv. That is the difference. I expect more and better from a potential POTUS, not someone who acts like a spoiled child, a bully. I would not tolerate Trump's behavior in my children. Why would want such behavior in our President? I would have to shield my kids from our President. As I stated, I am not an HRC fan, but at least I wouldn't have to shield my kids from watching her on tv, unlike Trump.

Trump is stupid on another level:
1. that he would build a wall and make Mexico pay for it
2. that he would help the economy if it was tanking by borrowing more and more, and if we defaulted, he'd just print more money. He obviously thinks it's no big to default on loans since he's done so with several of his business ventures
3. that he thinks Putin is great
4. that he would be willing to talk to Kim Jung Un at this point
5. that he would not defend our allies within NATO, playing right into Putin's hands

Even non-politicians can see how stupid some of his plans are. He shoots from the hip without thinking. That is dangerous and stupid.

still yet another that doesn't know difference between using personal email and having own server! What other politician has used own server? Her emails would have been more secure if she had used personal email account like hotmail.
