Why are Trump Supporters Resistant to Fact?

Anonymous

The "facts" don't matter to the people who have lost ground. They see someone who looks like he does things even if he hasn't. They hear a voice that they are familiar with . . . they hear that voice when their neighbors and coworkers speak. Hilary's voice is very foreign to them. They slipped under Obama and feel they will slip again under Hilary. That's pretty much all there is to it. She isn't convincing with those kinds of voters.

Neither is my neighbor's pet ferret, but I wouldn't vote for it for president either.

Nice article to that effect. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/07/the_people_who_hate_hillary_clinton_the_most.html

It's always been odd to me the many layers to Hillary Hate. That she is hated for being conservative and liberal in equal measure. That she is called to answer for sins committed by many others. It's also funny to me that once in office, she's extremely popular.

But Trump is not just a liar, but also a racist, a bully, and stupid all at the same time. That's a deadly combo. At least HRC is not racist or stupid. Cunning? Yes. Stupid, no.

Please you can use the same words to describe HRC. Ask Obama if Hllary went after him on race? What about the server issue- stupid yes. Her constant use of the gender card- Bernie bros to describe the opposition. Using the DNC to attack her opponents. She is the same as Trump. You just refuse to see it.

Many a Republican politicians have used their own personal emails for work. Yes she was very stupid to use it exclusively, but in general, she is not a stupid women. I think she did so to keep the prying eyes of the gov't out of what she was doing. As I stated - cunning.

Whatever HRC has stated, it doesn't come close to the racist rhetoric Trump has spewed. And to add, he openly mocked a disabled person on national tv, and he has used some ugly words to describe women when they dared to attack his rhetoric, not to mention also attacking a man's physical appearance. People mock Trump's physical appearance, yes, but neither HRC nor Sanders have done so to Trump on national tv. That is the difference. I expect more and better from a potential POTUS, not someone who acts like a spoiled child, a bully. I would not tolerate Trump's behavior in my children. Why would want such behavior in our President? I would have to shield my kids from our President. As I stated, I am not an HRC fan, but at least I wouldn't have to shield my kids from watching her on tv, unlike Trump.

Trump is stupid on another level:
1. that he would build a wall and make Mexico pay for it
2. that he would help the economy if it was tanking by borrowing more and more, and if we defaulted, he'd just print more money. He obviously thinks it's no big to default on loans since he's done so with several of his business ventures
3. that he thinks Putin is great
4. that he would be willing to talk to Kim Jung Un at this point
5. that he would not defend our allies within NATO, playing right into Putin's hands

Even non-politicians can see how stupid some of his plans are. He shoots from the hip without thinking. That is dangerous and stupid.

+1 They want someone who will voice their frustrations. They don't care about facts. They only care that he is a mirror of their frustrations. When people are afraid and are hateful, they are irrational. Facts don't matter one bit.

Romney was an admirable middle of the road candidate and he got creamed. This is the only way to win.

This. They are both awful candidates.

Romney lost because of his 47% statement, at least for me. I honestly think he could've won that one if it weren't for this comment. Many of Trump's supporters are the 47%.

That's the only way a candidate can win the GOP primary these days. The party itself will always select right-wing extremists.

Even Trump who last I knew was both pro-choice and pro-single payer healthcare seems to have embraced the right to get through the primary, but he'll likely return to him more moderate roots as a East Coast liberal now that the primary is over.

RIIIIIGHT. Because that is totally what I saw last week.

OP, I think most Trump supporters still believe the earth is flat, and April 1 still marks the new year.

She's not corrupt, unlikeable, incompetent or robotic. You suffer from Clinton Derangement Syndrome. And that condition is impervious to fact.
