If they were actually friends, they would already know the story. These are FB friends, aka people she's barely in touch with. And the questions are inappropriate.


The entire point of FB is to overshare.

I'd say what you wrote in your post: "I didn't approach parenting in a traditional way, but we lead happy, stable lives that I'm proud of (and of note, work my ass off to make happen)."

Can you say, "I'm raising her myself" or "it's just the two of us" or something similar and then change the subject? I'm single and pregnant and when people ask intrusive questions I say something like that. Answers the relevant part about whether there's a partner in the picture but not the juicy parts that are none of their business about what HAPPENED.
