Transplant or Washingtonian?

Transplant. Attended public schools in suburban Atlanta. I've been in DC since 1988 so I guess I'm a local now. Have a first grader at Mundo Verde which we love. We were at Appletree (CH) before that and had a pleasant experience there too.

Grew up in Takoma park and live in ward3 now but do private. I believe in being promoted in front of one's peers has benifits that can be maintain for life. It doesn't always pan out that way but it is a huge start.

Native. Attended school in the Deal feeder but went private for high school. Both kids attend Wilson and love it even though I had doubts about sending them there when they were younger. It's worked out better than my wildest dreams.

Transplant. One kid at immersion charter and one not yet in school. Older is in second grade, younger will be in PreK3.

Went to public school in inner ring suburb of major east coast city.

The whole process of the lottery has been way more complicated but I think the education my kid is getting here is far better, so far. We shall see about middle school.

Fingers crossed, gambling with children is the new urban country club scene. Oh Olive got into Murch, to bad about Colin falling in with the wrong crowd loitering in Tenleytown after class.
