Those Tory Burch flats with the gigantic logo remind me of Flava Flav and his medallion

I'm guessing that the people who wear TB and have Vera Bradley bags also shop at Talbots! Frumpy and bumpy.

I love my tory burch flats because they are so comforable! I could care less what they look like. I have never in my life tried on another pair of flats that were as comfortble as my tory burch flats. That being said, I bought mine in 2007 and they still look great. I am slightly annoyed that so many people have them now though. I used to be the only one wearing them. And for the PP they did not just become a hit in 2008 they have been around for over two years. It is not a passing trend.

The Tory Burch flats, the Vera Bradley bags, the Jack Rogers sandals (see separate thread on this board), the Uggs, the kate spade bags . . . not my thing. All kinda blah, bordering on frumpy and definitely uniquitous. Once you see 'em on all the Whitman (HS) girls, it's over trendwise. Of course, the h.s. girls look cute, but what 16 y.o. doesn't look cute?

PP, I so agree!!! Glad to know I am not the only one who thinks they are blah!

She's a bit of a one-hit wonder. The medallion worked so she keeps on going back to the trough for more. Laughing all the way to the bank!

Those jellys are disgusting and look exactly like those weird slip-on Barbie shoes. Those medallions are like some gauche family crest or something.

I agree about the medallion working - it's sort of amazing. But I disagree about her being a one-hit-wonder. I like her clothes . I think she's building quite a fashion empire, not unlike Ralph Lauren in his early years. Her clothing is very American, very classic. She's gorgeous herself and is selling a lifestyle. It all started with the shoes, but I think her clothing is going to be around a long time. Plus, it's at a good price point - right around Ralph Lauren's mid-price lines. And it's selling in all the high-end dept. stores.

See ToryBurch.com's homepage. Definitely not Talbot's!

Flats aside, she's selling a lifestyle.

Yeah, but for $200 (cost of a pair of flats), you don't get the lifestyle, just the illusion of it. Howevery, you are definitely contributing to her lifestyle -- so maybe there's some vicarious frisson here?
