| unexplained & nothing worked for us. Iui then ivf. it was 10 years ago, we don't have any bio kids |

I was unexplained secondary infertile. We tried for 3 years on our own (diagnosed, if you can call it that, one year in - we were 34 at the time). Finally tried IUI at 36 - did 3 rounds, got pregnant through #2 but m/c at 10 weeks. Took a break for the holidays and were going to give IUI a couple more tries before throwing in the towel (our first was getting close to 8 and due to a thyroid condition, I didn't want to do IVF). Just were waiting for my period to show to call the clinic to restart...it didn't show that January. It was a SHOCK to get pregnant on our own after thinking that we needed the assist, but we did. I honestly didn't do anything different - we hadn't used protection in years.
Our girls are 8.5 years apart. And it is great. |

Unexplained infertility---all testing 100% normal and we've both been tested several times.
Been married for 14 years and have never used contraception from age 28 to 42. Only time we've been pregnant is through IVF---at ages 31 and 34. It worked beautifully both times. Going on 8 years of unprotected sex since and nothing. |
| D plus or minus in not the only blood antigen which causes problems. E caused a lot of problems for our newborn - hemolytic anemia, blood transfusions. But I mention because if I had had a miscarriage before conceiving #1, I would likely not have had a successful pregnancy - and probably most Drs wouldn't have known why. |
| All testing came back normal after trying for a year (age 37, almost 38). Started acupuncture 6 weeks ago and had HSG 3 weeks ago. Have my first RE appointment today, but think I'm pregnant. My sister tried for a year and got pregnant after her HSG. |
| nothing worked. adopting now. |
| 6/10/16 poster 15:20: my pregnancy has been confirmed so we'll see if it sticks. No idea if it was the acupuncture, the HSG, both, or neither. |
Congrats PP! Hope it sticks and you have a smooth and uneventful pregnancy! |
| Thanks! And best luck to all here! |
| 26 years old, tried for a year and nothing. Testing didn't find anything wrong, other than weak ovulation. Had an HSG, got prefnant literally 72hrs later. Baby is 1. Trying for our second. I have a feeling it's going to take a while again. |
Is your baby healthy? I worry about the effects of all that radiation on the developing eggs after the HSG. |
| Not the 26 year old poster - I'm the poster from a few days ago who got pregnant after HSG. Lots of doctors encouraged me to try to conceive after it, and my sister got pregnant after HSG and has healthy 1 year old twins. I was looking for studies but the only ones I found were basically that in typical radiation doses there's no evidence of a long term problem. |
