What about the high school? Thanks!

Takoma Park. Great community, schools, and little downtown area. We love it!

Garrett Park is not down to earth. Know a few families over there and they are pretentious snobs and constantly competing with our kids and their friends. "Oh, my Larla got 5 ESs this quarter - what did yours do? None? Oh that's a shame."

Well, I guess YMMV. But I have never had that discussion. To a person everyone I know is supportive and genuinely happy for each other's kids and their accomplishments, and no one is denigrating anyone else's accomplishments. I guess there are a few bad apples when you get to a size of 800 - yep, it's a big elementary school - but on the whole, I don't think it compares in competition and pretention to other schools in the area.

I also know of some intense bullying at Garrett Park. No idea about the competition aspect.

Tilden MS is down to earth. SS elementaries that are popular are Oakland Terrace, flora Singer, Woodlin. They feed to Einstein which many people whose kids attend like it. Blair is also well liked.

The fear-and-loathing choir of DCUM is the absolute last group you should be asking for "down to earth" suggestions.

Find cool people you like in real life. See where they live. Follow.
