Why are you so nasty?

I'm not the PP but how is that nasty?

A troll to post it, but when I visit my family outside of major Metro areas, ALL of the babies (<2, but even <1) have lots of regular, intentional TV time. And I'm sure it's not exclusive to "those areas"-- in fact, it's at least moderately common in most places in the US.

2) Maybe if you hadn't watched so much TV, you would have done even better than an Ivy League!!1!!

I stated #1 for all the DCUM posters that think kids that watch tv will automatically be stupid and do poorly in school

Just imagine how REALLY brilliant you could have been without the idiot box....

No one literally believes that, Lady Humblebrag, and you know it. Some people think it's a subpar choice, and the more extreme people here (who are not trolling) think it's very likely to be damaging in *some* way... but no one believes your straw man (*automatically* *stupid*).

I very much appreciate the Janet Lansbury article for the person who posted it. Thank you.

There is a Baby TV channel on Comcast and Spout on Verizon.

She loved this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/KidsTV123?nohtml5=False

She learned a lot from it.

Nick Jr., PBS, etc. and which shows are your babies favorites?

None, you idiot.

+1

Sorry, OP, but step up to the plate. You're a parent now. You don't plant babies in front of the TV.

Agree. Screen time under two is detrimental to children. I love tv and fully intend to plant my kid in front of it on Saturday mornings. But not until he is at least 2 or 3. Why would you seek advice and plan something deliberately where there is proven scientific research that it is harmful to your child? You may as well have posted "I know soda is bad for infants, but a few ounces is harmless. Which is your favorite?"

I feel truly grateful to those who provide constructive responses on this forum (thank you!) and feel equally sorry for those who feel the need to post critique and judgement. It's your perogative, of course, but why even bother with it?

You cannot expect to post such an ignorant thing and expect only support.

No they cannot but I would think people should expect a level of human decency and not to be called names. If you don't agree be like the contstructive disagreeing posters and nicely post an article.

You do realize that cable companies are not benevolent organizations, right? Just because it is on TV, doesn't mean it's good for you.
