How did you celebrate your 40th birthday?

Went out to a super fancy dinner with dh and got a suite and swanky downtown hotel. The next night hand dinner with friends. Parents took the kids for the weekend. Spent the weekend downtown, sleeping in, brunching? Walking around. It was perfect.

Rented out a private room at my favorite restaurant and had a dinner party with my friends and family. It was fabulous!

Best vacation ever.

I had a choice between a big party and a trip and I'm SO glad I picked the trip.

Could you share the name of the place?

I'm in the process of looking up romantic getaway for dh's 40th and could use some more ideas. Thanks!

Went out to dinner with husband and another couple, thought it was going to low key, but next thing I knew we were at a strip club and I was getting lap dances. It was interesting I'll say that! I remember very cheap chardonnay at that joint...

I hope you are now cancer-free! Hugs to you.

I am. Thanks.

For my 50tg I got divorced.

I wonder what's in store for 60.

I hope something fabulous is in store for your 60th. You've been through the wringer. If I knew you, I'd do something wonderful for you.

Scheduled a champagne brunch with a view for my 4 friends and I. Then suddenly my husband had to go away for the weekend and one of these friends offered that our kids have a play date and her husband would watch them.
It all started really well, but then our designated driver had too much champagne and we had to wait for her to sober up, then we get stuck in traffic on the way back (accident), then friend's husband calls and says their kid just developed a fever... And here I am, one week later, we my kid having come down with the same weird bug - high fever and all...
Happy birthday to me!

Nothing. Had a sad birthday because my twin had been recently diagnosed with aggressive cancer and spent our birthday helping her prepare for her chemo port installation.

Thanks!

I also look at it this way:

40th I gained perspective.
50th I gained freedom and restored my sanity.

It's all about how you look at things, I guess.

You might have done the same if you weren't pregnant and had a blow out birthday bash!
