I'm not so sure Ashburton is that clean. It's pretty grimy according to my DD.
Really? how so?
Ashburton is pretty clean and has decent facilities, but most of the other schools in this part of Bethesda are not as overcrowded and have better facilities. Those other schools in this area are also higher income. MCPS has been trying to redistrict for years, but every time they try, there are winners and losers and the losers complain so loudly that the redistricting plan never goes foward. |
When have they tried to redistrict Ashburton? More and more development is occurring, and there has been no plan to change the boundaries. Indigos Crossing (Apartment Building) was built in the zone on a piece of Georgetown Prep's property, and now it requires its own school bus.
It's a 10 in disguise.
Ashburton is an amazing place and my child absolutely loves it. The teachers have all been caring and very responsible. The principal who left was one of a kind and the new principal is very nice too. My child also has had some social needs and the school counselor is amazing. All the kids love her and she is very responsive. With the size of the school the teachers handle it very well.
PP must be the new principal. My kids hate it and we think its a dump. Can't wait to move.
I doubt posting here will keep anyone away.
All you have to do, if you want to keep ppl away from Ashburton, is highlight the not-so-good PARCC results.
I choose to highlight the dirty facilities, bad library and overcrowded classrooms.
45% over capacity. |
Not a fan as a parent of AES, either!
PP, why are you not a fan?
