Our Dr. told my DD she would get her period in about half a year. I asked how she knew that and she said it's the way the pubic hair grows out toward her bikini line. At the time, my DD only had a little bit in the middle. Thought it was interesting. Dr. ended up being right. |
| Our daughter grew 4+ inches in the year she got her period at age 12 and she has grown 3+ inches in the year since she got her period. Our doctor said that girls can grow for two to three years after they get their period. She said our daughter grew a lot this year and she isn't expecting a major growth spurt after this year. Perhaps 1 or 2 more inches maximum each year for the next year or so. |
My daughter has scoliosis and while it's totally under control, they said that the spine needs to be monitored at the start of a girl's period through the first two years, which is when most growth occurs. My daughter will be 12 soon and doesn't have her period. significant growth spurt last year |
those who do grow post period have higher testosterone levels. most don't, so don't grow much. |
