Other tip I did not think of: it can be more convenient to have your kids in school near your work instead of near home. It was the case for us our first year as I frequently had to go to the school. But definitely prioritize schools that are workable with your commute.
Definitely check out schools along your commute. You may get into one closer to work, or on your commute route that could work out really well for you.
