So tired of this. Mixed does not automatically equal cute. |
| I want to be her. I feel super homely these days and don't have a decorative bone in my body. Home/interior decor seems to require some kind of vision or talent or acumen and I just don't have it. Kinda makes me sad sometimes. |
Actually it does. Have you seen an ugly mixed kid? |
Um, she has ONE vision. If you've seen one episode, you can predict the rest of them |
"prototypical New Jersey" ??? She's Asian! |
I laugh every time they pretend to actually do any of the house work. Yeah right. |
I live in California and she's definitely NOT typical for this area. Maybe like 10/15 years ago but not anymore. |
I don't understand people like you who have to dump on others. The PP you quoted is happy to be building a family and happy to be what she is. And you have to sh!t on it. Feel free to enjoy the purity of whatever your race is, but imagine someone saying the same thing to you about your ethnically static genetics. It kind of sucks to have a negative moron be on you for your personal opinions and happiness. |
NP. Plenty. You haven't a big enough sample. I've had half a century, and I grew up as a military brat, where all combos of mixed kids were common. If the parents were ugly, the kids have a good chance of being ugly, or at best, plain. Lots of mixed kids look average to me. My family and in-laws sport lots of mixes. My own mixed kids are beautiful, but we're good-looking parents. LOL I think Joanna is quite striking. Hate the show, though. It's the same look, bland, safe, over and over. And I don't like how she's always looking up at her man all adoringly. Very Nancy Reagan. |

She's not my cup of tea.
I love her designs and personality, but don't think she's gorgeous. Attractive yes--but not stunning. |
And he's the dim-witted, child-like husband. I really hate how the producers want to show all sorts of behind the scenes antics. I actually want to see home remodels. That's the part I find interesting. |
Get over yourself, you totally missed the point. That person was debunking a stereotype. She did not say anything was wrong with being biracial, just that it does not magically make you beautiful. Get a clue. |
Yep. You only notice the attractive ones. There are just as many ugly mixed ones as not--just like the more homogenous. Fwiw, I'm mixed Italian and Irish . I have olive skin, dark hair and blue eyes.
|
I absolutely missed the point, then. Why debunk stereotypes that aren't bad? Can't someone just express excitement about their future kids without having to have the conversation that ugly people exist in all races everywhere? I don't get people like you. |
A scene in one of their shows made me cringe - daughter walks up to Tarek as he's typing on the computer. He gives her a hug and says "you're so pretty" and sends her on her way. Talk about role modeling! |
