Sometimes a SIL brings out the worst in your brother - instead of the best, like a partner should.

Sometimes a SIL really is awful, selfish, unkind, and narcissistic. Sometimes a brother becomes worse after marrying aforementioned SIL - and that brother should deserve "blame" for his own responsibility and choices, too. Sometimes people bring out the propensity for shittiness in each other.

I am sorry. I have been dealing with this for almost 30 years. She is even a bigger bitch now that mil is dead and she is the "matriarch" of the family.
