Depends where you get the pizza from. Costco pizzas are HUGE and one pizza slice will be adequate for most adults. Ledo pizza? My 3 (ES and MS) kids can eat the the whole large pizza in one sitting. I would assume that you are ordering from Papa John's, Dominos or Pizza Hut (large pizzas with 8 slices), and would calculate 3 slices for each adult and 2 for each child. Round up. (If you have left overs? I always have aluminium foil ready and pack the leftovers for guests. But. I have a decent HHI and can afford to give away food. YMMV.) |
Very good! I order similarly. |
I've literally never seen adults at a kids party eat 3 slices of pizza and certainly no non-asshole would complain if you ran out before they got a third slice c |
This I suspect the others are cheapskates. |
I have seen that a lot. Many adults will have 2 or 3 if it's decent pizza. Thinking about the small pizza slices a lot of places around here have. I'm a size 4-6 and I will eat three for dinner. A party at three in the afternoon would be different, but for dinner time have more. Ask the place you're ordering from for guidelines. |
Or my preference would actually be to have more salads and sides like vegetables and fruits of you go for the lower pizza amount. Veggies and hummus. Fruit salad. |
She will have 1/2 leftover. |
Count 2 slices per person. Kids don't eat more than that (most eat less) and adults may want to, but won't because they would feel embarrassed (some won't eat any)So, 74 slices = 9 large pizzas will be more than enough.
I had a kids party with a similar head Count and ended up bringing home 5 boxes of pizza to freeze, but I rather be cautious and have more food than needed. Now, at the last party when I served pizza for the kids only and other type of appetizers for adults then they ate much more (adults). But we also had alcohol for them. |
OP,
How many did you end up ordering? How'd it turn out? |
Most kids' birthday parties aren't in the evening, though, and at the host's home. I think that is why I would err on the side of caution and round up.
Of course, it matters if it's a 4-6pm party or, say, a 5-9pm. |
I have - but it was a swim party. Almost every kid at 2 pieces and some ate 3 and were begging for more. A few adult has a piece at the beginning because the host thought she ordered plenty (and I can see why she thought that). The kids were fighting over the last piece. And two of the kids at the party didn't eat any. I just say this because the setting and timing are very important. |
