nothing. that's the point.

Then why does OP call it an "un-ironic hippie wedding"?

Not a big church wedding and hotel reception, but outdoors, all kinds of flowers and butterfly people and wishes and shit

"To ensure everyone followed the right path toward the ceremony structure, performance artists donning butterfly headdresses provided directions. Why butterflies, everyone asked? Lauren explained that she and Bobby had been moved by a Radiolab podcast about the transformation of the butterfly in chrysalis, which resonated with them in terms of the transformation that marriage would bring to their relationship."

This was by far my favorite part. SO they're, like, deep.

+1
You know, Schmucksters, or whatever adorbs names you call yourselves, the best way to show you're deeply in love and in a new phase of relationship development is to remain faithful (however you define it) and married for the rest of your lives. I give them four years.

Her husband is a cutie, though.

The butterfly people walking into the water seems like the ultimate in humiliation. What a joke.

Some people are not being taxed enough.

Wait, this isn't a joke? Seriously? I thought this was a joke.
Regardless, who is the hottie with no shirt?

And how she "willed" the baby to be born two weeks early just for the wedding.

He's on a higher level of attractiveness than the bride IMO.

I thought the article was satire.

And the cake was vegan and gluten free even though the couple is neither!

why does this make me so sad: sad that apparently burning man really is dead; sad that the comments make me laugh so hard when i'm trying to give up 'mean' satire; sad that 1%ers are so oblivious; sad that we are right back in the gilded age, without the fun shenanigans of prohibition, jazz, and art deco; sad that it feels like DC is filled with people like this now. i'm tired of this 1% society even though i'm in the 10%. isn't anybody down to earth anymore? brilliant writing, though.

We're supposedly in the top 4%, and I don't feel anything close to being wealthy.

I think the wedding is ridiculous, imo, but if that's the lifestyle, then so be it.

btw - Have you seen Dale Chihuly's works? I have - up close and personal. He's been around forever and is nowhere close to "hippy."
