Could you respect a celebrity who doesn't even have a college degree?

They aren't performing surgery on our children!

Odd post

-no, they are not. But they are directing money-driven politics, giving to super-PACs, dining with the president and other politicians, making political propaganda of one type or another, etc.

So there is that. Like, our future as a nation, and all.

Yeah I'm sure POTUS is taking his advice from Tom Cruise. Get a clue.

I've been to too many colleges to put a lot of stock in a college degree.

Curious as to your thoughts.

They're fucking Hollywood stars. I hardly worship them.

This can't be a serious question.

I could care less if they have a high school or college degree.

I absolutely cannot respect a person who cheats on their spouse...

Whether someone went to college or not has little if any impact on my level of respect for them.

Sure, if they're someone I have a reason to specifically respect.

I have no respect for you OP. Based on your comment you seem to be ignorant and close-minded, along with having an over-exaggerated sense of self.

Not sure who you think you are, truly.

If you weren't smart enough to parlay your college degree into a better paying job than the well paid celebrity without a degree, I would think you were a fool if you were trying to elevate yourself above them.

This. I respect people based on the kind of people they are, not their level of education, their wealth, their material possessions, etc. Hell, my dad doesn't have a college degree, and he is one of the most awesome people I know.

and here you are in an entertainment/pop culture thread.

+1. This is a troll post.

Why do you care so much OP? I don't judge people by whether they went to college or not. I'm a lawyer, but I'll take to anyone. Who cares?

I can respect anyone, no matter their level of education. I respect my cleaning lady though I believe she's had very little schooling. She works hard and is honest and always greets me with a smile.

Most creative types are wired differently ( my DD is one although she is at college but hates it). I would be shocked if the majority of super talented, creative celebrities have degrees- don't see a lot of that type sitting through Econ 101. Of course I respect them- not everyone aspires to get an MBA or JD ( I know shocking to most on DCUM).

I do respect the celebrities who have a solid education, however I never write one off who does not.

Mary J. Blige never finished high school, yet I find her extremely talented plus I think her talent overrides anything.
