Horrible ILs. Pregnant with number 2 and have placenta prevue so not allowed to carry toddler. They didn't offer to help when he got fussy at the dinner table but decided to tell my husband that he should finish his food and let my mother take care of him (she did not finish eating either). After dinner told us that they would rather not help clear the dishes because they would probably cause more trouble. However, they insisted on dessert right away while I was clearing the table and my mom was doing the dishes. DH had to cut the pie for them and ended up letting toddler run loose who immediately tried to grab a dirty knife.

I took Xanax too before my in-laws arrival. My pregnant SIL tried to make the day and every conversation all about her... I was able to respectfully walk away everytime she was whining how people at the store don't offer her their shopping cart, how she can't take the train anymore... She almost made it sound like pregnancy is a disability. Without Xanax I would have lost my cool.

Count me in as a Xanax taker! My MIL is staying at our house and keeps saying she wants to move here because she misses the kids and will randomly yell out "oh, I found a perfect place - is deanwood a nice neighborhood?" She is an obese 60 year old with teased hair and she dresses like someone the 80s forgot. I'm tempted to tell her to go ahead and buy it!

Yesterday was Day 3 of 5. Mom does not know what Uber is, but the fact you use a smartphone with it makes it undesirable in her eyes. As a result, last night she refused to let us Uber. Instead we had to drive into DC, waste time looking for a close spot, park at a high rate blocks away, and walk. My mom can barely walk, let alone at a fast clip in dressy shoes. We arrived at the show minutes before curtain tired and flustered. Then we got to repeat the process afterwards. DD is too heavy now for us to carry at all and she was whining with every step.

My mom was a total b., making every conversation about her, interrupting people, giving orders, yelling, and then acting like a child when she got yelled back at. She spent the end of the night refusing to talk to anyone, and it was glorious.
