Do your spouses tell you about/invite you to work functions like Christmas party?

Dh's company Christmas party is for employees only. They all get shit faced drunk then drive. 3 years ago dh went got so bombed he didn't remember a conversation i had with him when i called him at 12am since he wasn't home yet. Needless to say he hasn't went to one again and yes I'm controlling and care about my husband not drinking and driving since he doesn't.

OP, if the question is if workplaces have parties sans spouses, yes they do. DHs company does, as does my company. I think it's kind of rude through the holidays as its a family oriented time of year. I would love to meet the partners of the folks who have to put up with me day to day

That being said, some companies go for the concept of "mandatory fun", and you have to play the game. So, I will go to my party (unless I can avoid it), put in my time and get home early. DH will go to his and I will wonder why he needs to be out to 2 in the morning. It's the holiday spirit, yeah?

Our company used to have a great party at a venue (with guests) and an amazing kids party. The kids party was awesome. Now they have no kids party and a Hapoy Hour in the building - partners invited but it starts at 3:30 lol.

My company does a party in a restaurant or hotel every yap ear. Decent food and open bar. Spouses or a guest invited (I've seen people bring their moms or a sibling). I always go and it's fun. DH works in a big big company and is on client site so on the years there is a party he wouldn't know anyone anyway so we don't go to that.
