has anyone without fed experience who's not a veteran gotten a fed job in the last 6 months?

It used to be the federal career intern program, which let agencies hire at normal speeds and without as much ridiculous red tape from OPM. Obama ended it because the Vet lobby got pissy. You're right that it's still easier to get in through an entry level program like pathways or honors, though.
