Funny joke, or antagonistic?

Funny. You need to take a chill pill.

It's funny. Turn it around on him next time and text back "no worries. The gentleman sitting next to me has agreed to take me anywhere I want to go. Don't wait up. Bye"

DH does this sort of thing to me, but it's intended as gentle teasing. For us, it would have ended when I texted that I'd just landed at Dulles: he'd either confess he was teasing, or make it more ridiculous so that it was clear it was a joke.

I think it's fair to talk about how some of his "jokes" stress you out. If he takes it over a certain line (say, when you ask if he's being serious, and he knows you are getting stressed out), it is very unkind

It would annoy me if he did this sort of thing often.

There are other ways he can show you his sense of humor.

Geez.
