She really did, you're right. Very soulful, very sad. I read a biography about her that was hearbreaking. Cannot recall the name of it right now.

She wrote it after her fiance unexpectedly broke off their engagement. Glass Jar is great. Same with Say Anything and I Was Gonna Marry You.
