Ah, no, he is aware of it. He might go with me if I think I need someone there. To the pp saying your boyfriend can deal-- I myself actually do not want to wait that long. Of course I'll do it if it's medically necessary. But I'm not sure it is yet. I can see where this thread is going to go, so I should just stop responding |
| You will be ok, OP. Ive had two, with biopsies each time. That bit is not enjoyable, but it is a quick pinch and then over. The doctor will swab the site with an iodine solution meant to stop bleeding if a biopsy is taken. Both times i experienced rust-colored, grainy discharge for a few days (wear liners as it will stain clothing). Sometimes the solution discharge is "lumpy," with i think bits of tissue that is expelled. After a few days all is back to normal. Id wait a week before sex or tampkns, but doubt any longer is needed. I think it is natural to be nervous, but the procedure is not too terrible. Also, a colpo is just looking at the cervix -- you may not even need a biopsy taken, so could avoid much of fhe above. Either way, good luck - you will be ok! |
| I think people are possibly confusing two procedures. I forgot the names of each procedure but after the biopsy, there was the rusty discharge for 2-3 days and you will need to abstain during that time. If you have to have the cervical freezing procedure because the biopsy turns something up, there will be leaky discharge for about 2 weeks and you will not be able to have sex until the discharge stops. Good luck OP. |

I posted about this before. I've had two and one was fine. The other was not because the doctor used a dull punch tool and tried over and over to get a biopsy before she realized the tool was dull. I almost kicked her in the fact.
I'm literally at the gym right now and noticed she's gone. Good riddance!! I don't have a bad recovery but I do take DH. Mostly because I get nervous about health issues. |
| ^^ ugh. Obviously I almost kicked her in the FACE and I am at the GYN. iPhone problems! |
Had one today (no biopsy) and felt that horrible dizzy/fuzzy feeling like I was on the way out...awful. |
